Tremor Standard

The TremorScope® sensor and the TremorLab® software combine to make the Tremorometer® - a system for measuring, processing and recording tremor. The Tremorometer contains tested algorithms for converting acceleration readings into useful tremor statistics. It has been accepted by leading research institutions and has been used as the measurement and processing platform in many peer reviewed papers or posters at scientific meetings. Features that make the Tremorometer a good candidate to be a Standard include:

Affordability       The low cost of the Tremorometer makes it the least expensive device on the market for measuring tremor and is affordable to any researcher or research organization.

Tremor Separation   By eliminating extraneous signals through the use of sophisticated algorithms that separate tremor from non-tremor components of the acceleration signal, only tremor signals are processed for more accurate results.

Standard Protocols   Protocols are used to control both the data collection and the data processing to provide uniformity across subjects and studies. Protocol Editor makes it easy to develop custom protocols for different research applications and Protocols may be shared and published to promote commonality.

Test Protection     The parameters that control the details of the data collection and data processing may be directly adjusted during test development, but they may be fixed in testing Protocols so that they cannot be inadvertently changed during testing.

Ease of Use        Running standardized tests is made easy with on-screen instructions, the ability to customize the on-screen displays, the simple test procedure in which a single button press runs a complete test, precise test timing and the automatic saving of readings and results to the disk.

Standard Tremor Statistics  The standardized tremor statistics provide a unique way to compare results across patients, time, studies, researchers and environments to eliminate the problem that exists when every study seems to generate unique results that cannot be compared.

Advanced Analysis   Tools are provided for researchers to examine, explore and experiment with tremor in depth. These include multiple ways to visualize the data, advanced FFT analysis tools, processing parameters that may be varied with the effects of the changes shown immediately in both tabular and graphic displays and by reports that may be imported in spreadsheets and other data processing programs for further analysis when desired.
